Dear Friends,
June is the month for the largest jewelry show in the United States, the JCK Las Vegas. We didn't know what to expect given the current economic conditions. There were definitely fewer vendors and attendees. Those exhibiting had controlled inventories. There was however, a guarded optimism and a belief that the bottom had been reached. With this thought in mind we see only an uphill climb to a brighter future. Colored stones truly dominated the designs at the show. The lectures focused on “in store” designs and an emphasis on streamlining businesses.

This striking clasp is a Lithos Jewelry design. It emphasizes our continual efforts for versatility in a piece of jewelry. It incorporates black and white diamonds. Diamond is the only gem to be represented in all eleven color families. However, the natural color black diamond is an illusion. The diamond is actually black as a result of criss-crossing fissures filled with sulfides. These diamonds are rare. The greatest difficulty lies in polishing these diamonds. The “Black Orlov,” 67.5 cts, is the most famous of the natural color black diamonds. Most of the black diamonds seen in today’s jewelry are the result of irradiation.
Thank you again for your patronage and friendship. We appreciate all of you.
With love,
Lornie and Rose
